New Additions to The Family
October 12, 2005Well, after years of lobbying and cohersion, I'm proud to say that Catherine and I followed through with our promise to get Ian and Dylan the pets that have wanted for so long. We are the proud owners of two little critters recently adopted from the Humane Society. Catherine had to do everything but give a blood sample and a bible oath to adopt them, but all the red tape and the waiting was worth it when the boys got home from school and saw the kittens.

They are as of yet unnamed, but there are many candidates on the list like: Vivian & Fiskers, Linus & Lucy, Siena & Leo (Italy, of course). They are brother and sister and were born on the 4th of July, so we're told. They've both been fixed, or broken depending upon how you look at it, so we won't be having any unexpected additions in the future. And, they both have tiny microchip identifier chips implanted in the scruff of their necks. That whole thing is kindof "Brave New World" like, but I suppose it's a blessing if they ever got lost. I did ask (I couldn't resist), if they came with a remote ;-)

I must say, I've always been more of a dog person, but these little ones are very sweet and affectionate and of course full of play. If you follow this blog and are starting to get a bit quezy, because of all the cute kitten talk, have no fear, there won't be entries like this every day. I will soon be back to my usual, navel-gazing pensive drivel. Until then, enjoy some kitty love...
