Back Among the Living
September 16, 2003
Man, it's been a rough couple of days. I came down with this stomach virus over the weekend that's been working its way through the family. Nothing like that feeling of melting from the inside out. It's not hard to see why Curt Cobain was a heroin addict and blew his brains out, living with chronic stomach problems.
In spite of it all, we had a wonderful show on Saturday night. In Border's Books of all places. When we play now, we are so tight and have so much fun I think it's starting to take on a life of its own. People are drawn to the music now. We had a big crowd before the end of the night, sold almost 20 CDs and got amazing feedback from everyone there. It's a nice feeling to be reaching people with the music -- to have total strangers go out of their way to stop and listen. I don't take anything for granted anymore.
Dylan is adjusting to school better now, starting to get more comfortable with his new routine. I think it's good for him because he is being challenged to use language to communicate more instead of grunts, squeaks and tantrums ;-) I missed seeing both boys last night because I was stuck working at the office until 10. It's awful to go a whole day with out being with them.
