Two old friends and consummate singer-songwriters join up to celebrate the height of summer with an acoustic show in a great listening room.
Based on the success and great feedback from the show on February 4th, I’m planning another evening of songs and stories at Waller’s Coffee House in Decatur. Expect a freewheeling night of music and prose with some immersive sound design and stories. Waller’s serves coffee, tea, wine, and beer. Seating is limited in this wonderfully cozy venue but the sound is amazing so be sure to get your tickets in advance.
I’m excited to be playing the first show after a very long break from performing. If you’ve not been before, Waller’s is a great little venue for music. It’s a wonderful sounding room with a great vibe and it’s intimate enough that it feels like we’re sitting together in my living room. Can’t wait to see you there!

The Woodlands Garden is a magical little place and one of my favorite venues to perform in. Tucked into a little patch of nature in the middle of Decatur is this wonderful wood gazebo that is screened in so you can hear the birds without getting devoured by the mosquitos. The acoustics of the room are perfect, it resonates with the music like an instrument itself. Rain or shine it will be a good time.

Ben will be performing a couple of acoustic sets with the talented Allison Adams. Expect the same great original collaborations with harmonies and a few surprise covers. Woodlands Garden is a sanctuary in the middle of the city and a wonderfully intimate place to listen to live music. The open air gazebo has comfortable seating and the acoustics are perfect. These Sunday afternoon concerts in the garden are always a lot of fun.
Acoustic trio, Mercy Street will be performing at the Decatur Book Festival on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Mercy Street is a side project for singer-songwriters, Allison Adams, Ashley Filip and Ben Wakeman where they perform their own material as well as some unusual covers from the 80's and from various Americana artists.
Every Sunday afternoon there is a wonderful music event in the Woodlands Garden. Ben will be performing a solo acoustic set with some special guests.
